The Sir John Monash Centre was designed as an interpretative centre, utilising state-of-the-art audio-visual experiences to recount the stories of Australia's role on the Western Front in WW1, where 290,000 Australians served. The museum provides a sensitive memorial to the lives lost in WW1 and complements the Edwin Lutyens-designed Australian National Memorial in Villers-Brettonneux, France which opened in 1938.
The centre was officially opened by the Prime Minister of Australia in 2018, 100 years after the Australian general Sir John Monash broke the stalemate and famously won the battle at Le Hamel.

Our Scope
Marshall Day Entertech was engaged to provide the electo-acoustic design within the centre, with a focus on the 360-degree immersive cinema. A challenging acoustic environment that required both subtlety and high-impact to successfully produce 'a recreation so real it will make you cry' (SMH).
