Marshall Day Entertech has built a reputation as the regional experts in the use of next-generation audio technology for live performance.

Sydney Coliseum Theatre

The 2,000-seat Sydney Coliseum Theatre is set to become the entertainment heart of Western Sydney, bringing professional musicals and live performances to the west that were previously confined to the Sydney CBD.

The Coliseum leads the field in sound system design, incorporating the cutting edge L-ISA immersive 3D-image sound system that is one of the first of its kind in this country. The building also features one of the first fully LED stage lighting systems for a new venue of this scale in Australia. Construction was completed and opened in December 2019 to great acclaim and success. More.

Alexander Theatre Redevelopment, Monash University

Marshall Day Acoustics and Marshall Day Entertech provided acoustic and theatre design advice for the redevelopment of the 600-seat Alexander Theatre, its extension to include the Sound Gallery experimental music space, and the adjoining 200-seat Jazz Gallery.

The theatre re-opened in 2018 and is the first proscenium theatre in Australia to install a state-of-the-art Meyer Sound Constellation 'active acoustic' system, which is paired with a similar system in the Sound Gallery. The technology enables the space to transform within minutes, tailored to a wide range of events and the different sound environments required. More.

Christchurch Town Hall

The re-build of the Christchurch Town Hall, after the 2011 earthquakes was completed in early 2019. Marshall Day was engaged as part of the restoration design team, and our primary objective was to ensure that the restored hall maintained the acoustic quality that has set the benchmark for many halls over the past 40 years.

A Meyer Constellation system was specified for the auditorium, with the added capability of a virtual acoustic shell on stage for orchestral ensemble. The system, which collects 31 house microphones, running it through a processing rig to redistribute it through 152 speakers, was installed and commissioned to meet the performance specification. More.

ASB Theatre

The ASB Theatre is Auckland's principal venue for performances of ballet, opera and large scale theatre. The refurbishment improved stage conditions for musicians seated under the fly tower and auditorium acoustics for symphony and opera. Prior to the refurbishment the auditorium was well-suited to amplified shows but lacked the reverberance, loudness and envelopment for symphony.

New reflectors were installed to enhance the natural clarity of the room. The reverberance has been improved by reducing the high-frequency absorption through the removal of the carpet, replacement of seats, and installation of the Meyer Sound Constellation System. More.
